Brief History of Organization

 

The Palestinian Counseling Center (PCC) was established by a group of psychologists, educators and community activists to provide professional and quality mental health care to the Palestinian society in the West Bank.

 

Mission

 

The PCC is a community based counseling and consultancy organization that advocates for positive mental health and well being for the Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).

 

Vision

 

The vision of the PCC, ‘to have a healthy Palestinian society’, reflects how the center analyzes the present situation and how it envisions a better future that will be in relation with the community needs. 

 

Objectives

 

  • To work towards improving the psychological, social and educational of Palestinian individuals

  • To work towards the development of national code of ethics for and high quality services in the field of mental health.

  • To contribute towards and participate in building a civil democratic society based on the rule of law and respect for human rights.

  • To contribute towards and participate in awareness and empowerment of the Palestinian society in the field of mental health.

European Graduate School, Saas Fe, Switzerland – Expressive Arts Therapy Program that will lead to the opening of the first Expressive Arts Therapy Institute in Palestine, an initiative of the PCC.
